Southeast Asian Tea and Coffee Trade Congregates at Regional Virtual Summit and Show
Nov 11, 2020

11 November 2020, Singapore -- ( ASIA TODAY ) -- The virtual FUTURE TEA & COFFEE SUMMIT AND EXPO 2020 was officially opened this afternoon by the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Embassy in Singapore, His Excellency Suryopratomo. This is the second time that the tea and coffee trade has come together since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in the region.

Visitors to the show will find a much larger participation of 46 exhibitors from the leading coffee, tea, and food ingredients industries in the region – doubled the number of exhibitors in June. Exhibitors hail from countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Brazil, and Peru; with Indonesia forming the largest official contingent of exhibitors. Singapore’s coffee and tea industries are also presenting an official Singapore pavilion at the show.

In June, the inaugural virtual FUTURE TEA & COFFEE SUMMIT AND EXPO 2020 recorded an encouraging attendance of more than 3,000 visitors over three days, and held a robust series of webinars. The event also received strong participation from the Indonesian contingent comprising leaders and businesses from the industry.

With restrictions of travel and physical face-to-face meetings removed, the virtual show is advantageously positioned as a borderless convenience for exhibitors, traders, and conference participants.

Organised by regional expo and conference organiser, Conference & Exhibition Management Services (CEMS) together with teapasar, the first global tea marketplace, the two organisations have a combined track record of over 20,000 visitors, 7,000 trade visitors, 220 exhibitors from 30 countries and $30m in sales for the tea and coffee shows presented by them in 2019. These include the Café Asia, Restaurant Asia, and the Singapore Tea Festival shows.

The show is powered by the cutting-edge technology ProfilePrint. The technology is a digital food standard based on rapid and non-destructive fingerprinting technology which was created to enable buyers and sellers to ascertain grade and quality without the need for physical samples, thus facilitating transactions with trust and facilitating sellers and buyers with the ability to respond to the absence of taste and touch, a disadvantage yet to be overcome by most virtual expositions.

Apart from engaging and meeting exhibitors and trade buyers from the tea, coffee, and food ingredients industries, visitors to the FUTURE TEA & COFFEE SUMMIT AND EXPO 2020 (November Edition) will hear from industry experts from around the world in a series of powerhouse webinars over two consecutive days on 11 and 12 November. The webinars will be presented by industry leaders and experts discussing various industry-related topics such as ‘Digital Transformation in the Food Ingredient Industry’, ‘The Global Shift Towards Specialty’, ‘Traceability and Sustainability’, ‘The Future of Food Ingredients in the Next 5 Years’, and ‘Digital Transformation of the Food Ingredient Supply Chain’. Over three days, exhibitors will also be participating in live sharing sessions to discuss various topics pertaining to the tea and coffee industries such future opportunities and challenges, building business resiliency, leveraging blockchain technology to elevate businesses, and discussions on qualities of different coffee beans from the Indonesian region.
